When Winter Meets Summer

Winter here in my city is now as good as gone. Nights are comfortably cold, but it has started to become hotter day by day. At my place winter happens just as close as a morning sweet dream to someone. By the time I start enjoying, it goes away. Oh, wish I could make winter stay in Mumbai for some more time.

These snaps are from my last time’s morning walk through Borviali National Park. Though winter acts as an axe that makes trees shed their leaves, but this very thing gives them such a dramatic look.. Even before I started photography as a serious thing I applauded to these greens and wondered that how I would be able to capture them in photo or brush to show its true beauty.

Even without leaves a tree still looks as gorgeous as it could. Just mix a morning fog around it, and the whole scene appears like a dream painting. Shoot it alone or with some other element and the results can be so good.

That day I got a similar chance to frame these. I wanted to add some prop in my frame and the morning Sun just came to my help. I reduced camera’s aperture to bare minimum, maybe f-11 to f-22 to get those spikes to the Sun.

Normally a leave less tree would depict sadness, depression, grim, or mystery but here I choose to look at them differently. The rising Sun against these trees is like ray of hope. A sign of arrival of summer. Maybe winter meeting summer just enough to say good-bye to each other……

  1. Great winter. Beautiful trees!

  2. Really nice, especially the last one with the virtually infinite bare branches.

  3. Stunning shots, Mayur 🙂
